  • IPK Setup is developed by PT. Indosoft and is used by 1 user of Software Informer. The most popular version of this product among our users is 3.2. The product will soon be reviewed by our informers.
  • When I try to click on the language it says 'download' it starts the download for about 2 seconds then goes back to the download message. If I go into Advanced, I have the Windows update window it goes through the install process and asks for a reboot, but the change to installed state fails each time.

Prerequisites

For the Epg you need to have the Epg-importer plugin installed – this should be available in most plugin feeds.

Downloading

Download the latest plugin ipk file from here

Installation

There’s a few different ways to install the plugin. SSH/Telnet, FTP

SSH/Telnet

  • SSH/Telnet to the box
  • Install by running

(or the url to the latest release ipk file)

  • Reboot the box

FTP

  • Download the ipk and ftp it to the /tmp folder on the box. N.B. if the config.xml file (see below) is in the /tmp folder it will also be installed if an existing one doesn’t exist
  • Either install it from the box GUI (in OpenVix this will be ‘Menu -> Setup -> ViX -> Install local extension
or SSH/Telnet to to the box and run
  • Reboot the box

Plugin Install Generator

You can also download a generator that will let you enter your details and generate a one line install command with the plugin preconfigured. Right click on the following link select ‘save link as’ and then save to your PC – generator download. You can then run the generator by opening the downloaded file.

Open your plugins menu, there should now be a plugin named ‘IPTV Bouquet Maker (IPTV for Enigma2 – E2m3u2bouquet plugin)’

Upgrading

If you install over the previous version it should migrate your existing settings and provider to the config file based setup /toad-for-oracle-free-download-for-mac.html.

Configuration

Start the plugin and then select configure to set general options

Select providers to configure providers

Press the green button add a new provider or press ok to edit an existing provider

Enter at least the name and press green to save. For entering long urls instead of using the remote control it is recommended to edit the config file (see below)

Epg

Once a schedule or manual run has been performed the Epg-Importer config will be set-up. Open Epg-Importer, select sources then enable the source(s) listed under ‘IPTV Bouquet Maker – E2m3u2bouquet. You run a manual update in Epg-Importer or set-up a schedule.

Config file

The config file is located in /etc/enigma2/e2m3u2bouquet/config.xml and an example is below. You should be able to edit this file from your ftp client (or download, edit, upload back to box)

Provider url, port, name updates

With the introduction of the config file based setup there is now no need for us to maintain a database of provider details. It’s now up to the provider to manage updates themselves. The provider can do this by setting the <providerupdate> element to the url of a text file. The text file should contain ‘Name,M3UURL,EPGURL’ e.g.

The USERNAME & PASSWORD placeholders will be replaced with the values from the <username> & <password> elements in the config file

See the provider managed updates post for further details

Known Issues

Deleting / disabling or renaming a provider doesn’t remove the old bouquets. To clear these bouquets use the ‘Reset Bouquets’ option on the main menu and then run again

App Catalog Direct IPK Download Format Uncovered for Free Apps
by Jason Robitaille on 3/3/2010 Filed Under: News;Tags: App Catalog, webos quick install, wosqi, ipk, direct download 63 comments

Well now, you don't see this every day. Using a combination of information found within public Palm feed API and a basic URL template, it's become possible to get a direct download URL for freeware App Catalog applications!

The format was uncovered by a few people at roughly the same time, with pman_lt being the first to post it on our forums. Basically, using the application number (found within the screenshot URLs), version number and package ID, you can build a .ipk file URL that will work to download all freeware applications.

What does this really mean? Well, in a nutshell, the sometimes arbitrary region restrictions on freeware App Catalogs apps is removed. While I'm sure some US-specific apps might not function fully, the vast majority seem to. And given previous developer reports of the Palm app submission form not recognizing their choice for full international release, this is bound to make many users and developers happy.

Since the URL format's discover a few days ago, things have progressed quickly. Rod Whitby added it unofficially to their Packages files for their App Catalog feeds. Now, you can go to the Ipkg Viewer in WebOS Quick Install and add the custom feed of http://ipkg.preware.org/feeds/palm-catalog/Packages and you'll have unrestricted App Catalog freeware downloads. Update: it will list the apps, but not allow download. WebOS Internals let us know that they're not adding any functionality to Preware to enable this well-known technique until they hear from Palm on the issue - more here.

In addition, the amazing developer Blacklight, from the Nexave forums, has developed a cross-platform desktop application called IPK Fetcher. It lets you view freeware App Catalog apps and gives clickable IPK download links, installable by WebOS Quick Install.

It remains to be seen whether this workaround will stick around - Palm may change their url structure to stop it. To our mind, though, most of the region-restricted freeware shouldn't be. With some apps (like music software that has to be region-restricted), it makes sense. However, for the vast majority of freeware, it's tough to see a good reason for the app to be limited to just the US.

Just keep in mind this direct download URL format is extremely unofficial and may break at anytime.
